Fairview’s motto is Keeping It Country, and many homes sit on residential estate lots with open sky in every direction. A wood pergola fits that setting. It gives filtered shade and a frame for vines or soft lighting without adding another solid roof to the view.
In a town that wants to keep its country feel, we lean toward rough sawn cedar and simple, heavy joinery over a fussy painted look. We place the pergola where it frames the view across the lot or toward the trees, then space the top boards for the shade you want at the hour you actually sit outside. Posts go in concrete. If you plan lights, we choose the fixtures before the permit goes in, because the town reviews them with the rest of the paperwork.

Rough sawn cedar left to weather to a soft gray over the seating area.
Lattice sides and closer top boards that give climbing plants a start.
A narrow frame over a path or gate that leads you into the yard.
Attached off the house so the shade starts at the patio and the yard stays open.
Beam ends, post size and stain color are hard to picture from a brochure. On request, we draw the pergola in 3D over your patio so you can adjust it early.
It is available on request for Fairview projects, so just ask.

Heritage Ranch is a gated community on private streets, and Sloan Creek Estates is newer construction with a cohesive look, so both are likely to review a pergola before it goes up. Thompson Springs, Oakwood Estates and Hawks Wood each have their own character too. We bring wood and stain samples and the drawings so the HOA sees the finished look before the town application.

Fairview’s building permit application lists pergolas by name, so yours goes through the town. Estrada fills out the application, adds the lighting certification if you want fixtures, and emails the package to the permits department.
Ask before you buy them. The town reviews outdoor fixtures for glare and shielding, and bare bulb strings may not pass in every lighting district. We list the lights you want with the application and ask the town. If strings are a problem, shielded fixtures mounted under the beams are a common alternative that still lights the space.
Plant on the sunny side and give the vines wire or lattice to climb so they do not wrap the posts too tightly. Keep growth trimmed back from the top boards nearest the house. Heavy vines add weight and hold moisture, so we size the beams for them and suggest checking the wood under the leaves each year.
Rough sawn cedar has a textured face that soaks up stain and looks at home beside a ranch style or stone house. Smooth cedar gives cleaner lines and suits newer homes with crisp trim. We bring samples to the first visit so you can hold them against your siding in daylight before deciding.
We look at your space, talk through shade and style, and give you a straight price.
